Yesterdays amazing weather made for a perfect day out on the water except that the fishing was not quite up to par with the weather! Well sometimes you can’t have everything folks!We had two all day boats and a half-day head out Saturday morning to calm seas, warm temps and sunny skies; The Half day had a handful of Red Fish, some Hake and a Haddock. The Patriot faired better with a slow pick of mixed species and a 10lb pool winning Cod. The Clipper did the best out of all the boats but that might have had to do with the fact the boat was loaded with some of our best, seasoned anglers! They had a

Monday started out with a slow pick on the anchor in the morning Capt Josh reported it was a multi-species bite with the jigs doing well for catching Pollock. They made a shift in the afternoon to a different area and had a nice bite of mostly Cod for the remainder of the day.
Tuesday’s conditions were a tad on the windy side, The Clipper made a stop into the wind for a few fish in the morning than as the conditions improved they made a long drift that produced a steady pick. The wind never the less kicked up again causing Capt. Josh to move on to another area were the jigs produced a quality bite of Cod and Pollock.

The Yankee Clipper headed out for the day. Due to rough conditions the fishing was tough. The catch was a slow pick. As conditions are forcasted to improve towards the mid to end of the week trips are running everyday. We hope to see improvement with the better weather.

Weather was a bit challenging and the catch was fair, with a mix of cod, haddock and pollock.
The Yankee Clipper anchored at the stops and anglers worked hard due to conditions.
Trips are sailing everyday through December! Reservations are suggested and don’t forget about our Minuteman Club!
Overnights are still running through the end of October. This trip is a bang for your buck! If you haven’t tried it yet, you should. We depart at 10pm on Thursdays and return at 6pm on Fridays. We also run the Double Dip Overnight geared for our WEEKEND ANGLERS, that departs at 3pm on Saturday and returns at 2pm on Sunday. Double your cod catch limit on both of these trips!

The Yankee Patriot took
the Wed. crew out to another fair fall day of fishing. Mate George Sr, reported that the fishing was “ok. Some people got ‘em, some didn’t.” The lucky one that caught them yesterday was one of the regulars Jim Fogg, he reeled in a 24lb Cod to win the pool. ( Isn’t this the second week in a row as pool winner, Jim? Must be a lucky streak , we know it is has nothing to do with skill !!!!!! Just kidding Jim!)

Red Sky At Night Sailors Delight...
The last full weekend in Sept. surprised us all by being one of the most beautiful weather and sea condition weekends of the year! Saturday we had two all day boats head out in the early morning fog; soon that broke to sunny skies and warm temperatures. Both The Yankee Patriot and The Yankee Clipper had very successful day trips, reporting fair fishing and a steady bite of Cod, Haddock and some nice Pollock. But…. it is advisable not to fall overboard, those shadows lurking under the boat are not big Cod! The Blue sharks enjoyed taking “little” nibbles off our anglers catch as they were reeled in,( Blue Sharks love fresh fish too)!
The overnight came back Monday late afternoon with some very heavy coolers. Capt Tom reported steady fishing all throughout the trip with a good mix of species Cod, Cusk, Haddock and some nice size Pollock. Remember the first weekend overnight of the fall is this week Oct. 1 - 2 leaving at 3pm Sat. returning Sun. at 2pm ( just in time for the Pats game! ) 1-855-5go-fish

The Yankee Freedom returned from the overnight trip Friday around 6pm. Capt Tom and Capt Zappa reported that the fish bite at night was slow to steady but with the tide change early Am they got on the fish! There was a good mix of Cod and Haddock but the predominant species caught was Cusk, perfect for game day fish cakes and chowder! Throughout the day they had a steady pick of Cod with some good market size in the catch.
Next Overnight is scheduled for 9/25-26/11 and departs from 121 East Main St. at 8pm. Book now and remember Capt. Tom wants you to save a Turkey and stuff a Haddock! 1-855-5GO-FISH!

The Yankee Clipper headed out bright and early Thursday morning ( although it was not so bright that early! ) to the fishing grounds and set adrift for the first stop of the day. This stop produced a steady pick of predominantly Haddock. Capt Josh shifted to a different area in the afternoon and had a very good drift producing market size Cod and Haddock thrown in. They than anchored for the last stop of the day with a steady pick of mixed species. Capt Kirk was also on board celebrating his birthday yesterday; what better way to spend it than with The Yankee Fleet! Happy Birthday!

The Yankee Freedom headed out this past Sunday overnight fishing with a private charter of 28 anglers. Though the conditions were a bit blustery The Freedom handled the conditions well and all anglers on board faired the rough seas well do to how seaworthy she is! The fishing was not bad either; Capt Zappa and Capt Josh steamed a little further out to find a decent bite of a variety of species with some nice large Pollock in the mix. So with only 28 anglers we managed to fill everyones coolers!
Monday and Tuesday were both fair fishing days despite the weather and the dog fish on Tuesday! Most of the catching was done with bait both days. The pool winner Tuesday was John Borrelli with an 11lb Cod and Monday it was John Boudreau with a 18lb Cod!
