Capt Dave woke up from a nice, long, well deserved slumber yesterday to report on the overnight of Sept. 4-5. ” Fishing was good, anchored at every stop……the night bite was good, the fish came in waves.. a steady pick of mostly cod and Haddock. Mostly all bait fishing, jigs were not working out!”
Next overnight is scheduled for this Sun. into Mon Sept 10-11 departing at 8pm, we still have some space and this nasty weather is suppose to be out of here to give us a beautiful, sunny and hopefully fishy weekend!

The last official weekend of summer brought some fair fishing. Everyone wanted to go fishing on Saturday; guess they all had cookout plans for Sunday! Both day boats reported struggling with strong tides and dog fish but there was a steady pick of Cod, Haddock, Cusk and Pollock with bait the weapon of choice. The pool winning fish on the Clipper Saturday and Sunday was a 15lb+ Pollock. The Patriot pool winning fish Saturday was a 15lb Pollock and Sunday it was a 12 lb Cusk. Don’t forget our next overnight fishing trip is scheduled for this Thursday night! 1-855-5go-FISH

The first overnight of Sept. returned to the dock last night around 6:30pm. The Yankee Freedom fished the eastern side of Middle Bank on this trip and had a lot of success catching the Haddock. The night fishing produced a fairly steady bite till the wee hours of the morning; than as the sun came up fishing slowed a bit but our sleep deprived anglers kept up a slow steady pick throughout Friday. There was a mix of Cod and Pollock but Haddock seemed to rule the trip. Next overnight is scheduled for this Sun. to Mon. departing at 8pm and returning at 6-7pm Mon. Come stock up your freezer with fresh fish for the winter!

Super Thursday produced a super day! Capt. Josh and The Yankee Clipper once again gave our anglers a great day of fishing! The Clipper anchored on most of the stops but they did do some drifting at the second stop of the day. The Cod and Haddock ruled the day but there was some good size Pollock as well. Most of the fish are preferring the bait over jigs right now, maybe they are fattening up for the winter! Our pool winner was a 15lb Pollock caught by Mike McGrath from Dalton, Ma. ( on bait! )
Check out the wonderful photos; on left is Ronald Parsons with the second largest fish of the day! To the right is Robert Mackinnon and his two best fish of the day! Photos coutesy of Dave Parsons. Thanks Dave!

Once again we had a gorgeous summer day out there! Slow fishing in the AM allowed time for our anglers to work on there tans but later in the day The Patriot made a couple of good stops producing some nice size Cod and Haddock. George SR. our top notch mate reported that only one Dog-fish was caught all day, now that’s reason to celebrate! The pool winner was a nice 20lb Hake landed by Jim Fogg! All and all it was a great day; good weather, good people and good size fish!

The Yankee Clipper headed out to calm seas, sunny skies and good fishing! Someone had a lucky penny in there pocket! The first stop of the day was on the anchor and produced some large Pollock and Cod. When that spot fizzled out Capt. Josh made a move and put The Clipper back on the fish again; with the last stop of the day giving them an hour long steady pick of Haddock, Cod and Pollock. Tuesday’s pool winner was an 18lb Pollock caught by Rick Stamm of Monson, Ma.!

Terry Seidel and pool winning Pollock that out weighed her!!!
8-25-11 Thursdays marathon brought good fishing, I guess it was the bite before the storm! The Clipper anchored most of the day due to windy conditions and strong tides. There was an abundant mix of cod weighing in the mid teens, some nice size haddock and the pool winner was an 18lb Pollock caught by Terry Seidel.
Fridays fishing slowed down alittle, maybe the fish are bunkering down before the storm. The Patriot did report it had a few good stops on the anchor; with one of them producing a 17lb pool winning Pollock!

The Freedom returned to the dock around 7pm yesterday from a very fishy overnight trip! The Haddock and Cod were abundant with a mix of cusk, red-fish and a few Pollock. It was reported by the crew that the most successful anglers on the trip were the nocturnal fisherman! Evidently the night pick was very steady and productive! Our Next overnight is scheduled for this Sunday the 28th some come get hooked on The Yankee Fleet! 1-855-5Go-Fish!
