Capt Tom and Capt Zappa reported that the fish bite at night was slow to steady but with the tide change early Am they got on the fish! There was a good mix of Cod and Haddock but the predominant species caught was Cusk, perfect for game day fish cakes and chowder! Throughout the day they had a steady pick of Cod with some good market size in the catch.
Next Overnight is scheduled for 9/25-26/11 and departs from 121 East Main St. at 8pm. Book now and remember Capt. Tom wants you to save a Turkey and stuff a Haddock! 1-855-5GO-FISH!

The Yankee Clipper headed out bright and early Thursday morning ( although it was not so bright that early! ) to the fishing grounds and set adrift for the first stop of the day. This stop produced a steady pick of predominantly Haddock. Capt Josh shifted to a different area in the afternoon and had a very good drift producing market size Cod and Haddock thrown in. They than anchored for the last stop of the day with a steady pick of mixed species. Capt Kirk was also on board celebrating his birthday yesterday; what better way to spend it than with The Yankee Fleet! Happy Birthday!

The Yankee Freedom headed out this past Sunday overnight fishing with a private charter of 28 anglers. Though the conditions were a bit blustery The Freedom handled the conditions well and all anglers on board faired the rough seas well do to how seaworthy she is! The fishing was not bad either; Capt Zappa and Capt Josh steamed a little further out to find a decent bite of a variety of species with some nice large Pollock in the mix. So with only 28 anglers we managed to fill everyones coolers!
Monday and Tuesday were both fair fishing days despite the weather and the dog fish on Tuesday! Most of the catching was done with bait both days. The pool winner Tuesday was John Borrelli with an 11lb Cod and Monday it was John Boudreau with a 18lb Cod!

This weekend was a perfect fall weekend weather wise and the fishing went right along with it! Saturday the Clipper reported steady fishing on the anchor with some large Pollock, Cod and Haddock. A 16 lb Pollock won the pool on the Clipper caught by Robert McKinnon. The Patriot also had a good day of fishing Saturday with Haddock being the main fish caught; I’m sure no one was complaining about that! Bait ruled the day and the Patriot pool winner was a 15lb Cod!
Sunday was also a banner day both for weather and fishing! The Clipper and Capt Josh once again found the fish putting our anglers on the Haddock and Cod! The pool winner was an 18lb Cod caught by John Gibbons. The Patriot seems to be attracting the Haddock lately; once again that was the catch of the day! Mate George Sr. reported the first anchor stop of the day was ” really good fishing, lots of Haddock!” The pool winner on the Patriot was a 10lb Pollock caught by Stan Pawlack!

It was a super marathon out on the Clipper Yesterday! Capt Josh reported that the AM anchor stops produced a good steady bite of Haddock. Moving to a different area in the afternoon they hit the Cod with Haddock and Hake in the mix. The talk of the day was the slammer Cod caught by David Watson of Revere, the biggie weighed in at 46.5LB and was caught on bait! Check out the Pictures!!!!

Today’s Fishing was pretty good, lots of Haddock caught mostly on bait with some Cusk and Cod mixed in. They picked through the dogs for most of the day but continued to catch fish… that is when the Blue Shark wasn’t fighting the Fisherman for their catch!! A couple of our anglers experienced first hand how to fight off the Blue Shark so they could take their fish home in one piece!! The pool winner today was a 15lb Cod which was caught on jig.

Capt Kirk skippered The Yankee Patriot Monday reporting back to the office that it was fair to good fishing for a full moon tide. They were on the anchor all day and had a good mix of Cod, Haddock, Pollock and the Spiny Dog-Fish were almost non-existent! The pool winner for Monday was a 10lb Cusk.
Limited Tuesday was not limited fishing! The Clipper headed out a little further than where they have been fishing and anchored up for a good mix of Cod, Haddock and some Pollock. Tuesday’s pool winner was a 20lb Pollock caught by Chuck

Big Fish
Capt Dave ( Zappa Dappa Do) returned on The Yankee Freedom Monday afternoon from another successful overnight. Zappa reported that the night fishing produced a good Haddock bite but there were a few smaller size fish in the mix. During they day they anchored in very deep water producing a steady pick of Cod and Pollock. Blue sharks were everywhere and so were body-less

Weekend Fishing
fish! Many of our anglers hooked into decent size fish only to feed them ( not by choice) to the Blue Sharks hovering around the boat! No man overboard drills please!!!!
The weekend day boats also had some fair fishing with a couple big Hake brought in and Loretta Miner hooked into one of those big sharks and brought him right to the boat! Way to go Loretta!

Today the Patriot had an “all-right” day of fishing, they made about 5 stops but what can we say they just weren’t biting that much today. They got a mix of Cod and Haddock with bait working best. The Clipper did a little bit better getting some nice size fish with a 14lb Hake as the pool winner from one of our regulars Loretta Miner, coming all the way from Vermont to fish with us!! — A bonus on today’s trip was a few Sharks were spotted eating the dogs to get them out of our way, thanks for the help Sharkies!!

We Finally made it back out to sea today! We had a group of very tough anglers that were unfazed by the pouring rain and breezy conditions in the morning! The Clipper anchored for the first stop of the day; right over a pile of Haddock. The strong morning bite lasted for over an hour than Capt. Josh moved on to greener pastures. The next few anchor stops of the day produced a strong bite of Cod and Pollock with some more Haddock in the mix too! The fish are already wet anyways so what do they care about a little rain!
