A Nice Mix!

Mother’s Day weekend was a beautiful weekend! The weather was great and the fishing good. The Yankee Patriot and Yankee Clipper both headed out on Saturday for an all day trip catching mostly cod with a haddock mix. The Yankee Clipper and Capt. Chris had a little better average!

The Yankee Patriot headed out on Sunday with Capt. Tom Lukegord. With some nice drifting the anglers saw a mix of cod, haddock and cusk.

Our Weekend Overnight trips had a good number of hardy anglers aboard, having a steady pick of cod and haddock throughout the trip.

Capt Dave thought this past weekends overnight all and all was a success! The trip started of slow at first with the strong tide playing a major factor. Those anglers that could find and hold the bottom caught the most fish. The bite picked up towards sunrise Cod and Haddock being the catch of the day. Bait ruled.

The Clipper and Capt. Chris are heading in from the all day as I type. Early reports say the fishing was slow today but Capt Chris made one last stop to try to put the guys on the fish and I guess they had some luck!

Both boats headed out with Capt. Chris on the Clipper and Capt. Tom on the Patriot. Fishing overall was good. The Yankee Clipper wins for the most fish! A nice mix of cod, haddock and some cusk. A beautiful 20lb. cod took the pool. The Yankee Patriot had a nice day didn’t catch as much and a day with #1 Mate George who can beat that!

Trips are sailing everyday including our Limited Capacity Tuesdays and Super Thursdays, 5am-5pm! Our next overnight will depart on Thursday May 10th and Saturday May 12!

Ask a reservationist for more information, 855-5GO-FISH (546-3474).

Does the moon phase really effect our fishing conditions? Our 3 all day boats did some research for us today and the results are: The Yankee Freedom had a good day with a steady pick of Cod and Haddock. The Yankee Clipper with Capt Chris had a slower day than yesterday but still picked away at the Cod and Haddock; the pool winner was Dave Sullivan with a 12lb Cod! The Yankee Patriot with Capt Tom had similar results with a pool winning 10lb Cusk caught by Wilbur Wright. The Yankee Freedom refueled and is back out with our overnight crew; lets see how the fish bite under the light of super-moon!
