Capt. Josh took the open boat today on the Yankee Clipper. With the part of Stellwagen he’s been fishing having opened to commercial fishing today, Josh decided to make a steam to the southeast and check out some deeper water in search of haddock. Unfortunately, the bite was picky at best, with just a handful of the silver ones coming up at each anchor stop. Some cod were in the mix, but haddock constituted the vast majority of the keepers that came aboard.. After the tide change in the early afternoon, they were able to motor-drift but the results weren’t much better. A slow to fair day as a whole, Josh said; the bite just never got going.
