Special Whale Photo Workshop

Ever wonder what our crew does in the off season? Well here at Yankee Fleet we are very fortunate to have lots of very special people working with us and we like to make the talent available to our equally special guests.

Steve Morello is one of our naturalists and he is a highly celebrated photographer who teaches photo workshops both at his home and on wildlife adventure around the world. You can visit stevemorello.com to see some of his work. Author of the book "The Traveling Nature Photographer" Steve has been photographing wildlife for more than twenty-five years. His work has appeared in National Geographic Magazines and books, National Geographic World Magazine, International Wildlife, The New York Times Martha Stuart's Living, Popular Photography, and Outdoor Photographer as well as numerous other magazines, books and calendars. In an effort to utilize his expertise we are offering a special Whale Photo Workshop on whale watching trips, departing on Tuesdays through the whale watching season. This photo workshop will begin with a one-hour workshop session at the restaurant Latitude 43 right next to our vessel, the Yankee Freedom. We will continue the days event on board the Yankee Freedom for an afternoon of exciting whale watching and photography. Steve will be on deck to give advice and tips on how to capture the best photographs of the whales and other wildlife we may encounter. As a special bonus, participants will be offered a 50% discount on our program to view the Gloucester Schooner Festival, Mayor's Race. This race is held September 2nd throught the 5th every year. There you will have the chance to photograph some of the classic old time Cape Ann Schooners and other large sailing vessels. So come join us for an adventurous whale watch and the opportunity to learn more about photographing the natural world.
